ZUDOKU Terms and Conditions

1. About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ZUDOKU mobile application and the website at zudoku.ai (together, the "App"), a Sudoku puzzle, social, battle, awards, and subscription service. By downloading, accessing, using the App, or ticking a box indicating acceptance, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy at https://zudoku.ai/privacy, the in-app Privacy Policy, and any feature-specific notices presented to you, including the Local PVP safety notice. Purchases are additionally subject to the rules of the applicable app store.
2. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least the higher of 13 or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, which may be up to 16. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly allow accounts for, or knowingly collect personal data from, anyone below the applicable minimum age.
3. Accounts and sign-in
You may use guest play, Google sign-in, and, where enabled, Facebook Login. Third-party sign-in is also governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy, and by our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your device and sign-in method secure. Username, avatar, scores, ZP, ZOKU, friends, chats, duels, awards, purchases, rankings, and safety records may be linked to your account so the App can operate. Notify support@zudoku.ai if you believe your account or device has been used without permission.
4. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
5. Fair play and community rules
You agree not to cheat, automate or script play, abuse bugs, harass, threaten, bully, impersonate any person or entity, post or transmit illegal, infringing, or harmful content, reverse engineer or tamper with protected services, or attempt to alter scores, ZP, ZOKU, battle or duel results, subscriptions, rankings, awards, or puzzle solutions outside the official App. We may limit, suspend, reset, or remove access to features, content, virtual items, or accounts where reasonably necessary to protect the service, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect other players. Where required by law, we will give notice and, where applicable, an opportunity to appeal.
6. Social and multiplayer features
Friends, chat, duel invites, PVP, ranked play, Daily Dojo, awards, and public or semi-public profile information are game features. Do not share private personal information in chat. Incognito mode is intended to hide your online/activity status from other players; it does not disable essential safety, security, subscription, anti-cheat, or legal processing.
Chat and message features are for ordinary game coordination and friendly play. They are not intended for confidential, emergency, financial, medical, legal, or sensitive communications. Do not send passwords, payment details, identity documents, addresses, phone numbers, private photos, or other sensitive personal information. Chat is not guaranteed to be private or end-to-end encrypted; recipients may see, copy, screenshot, forward, or misuse messages outside our control. Use chat only with people you trust.
You must not use chat, usernames, profile content, feedback, or multiplayer features to harass, bully, threaten, shame, stalk, impersonate, exploit, scam, spam, advertise, solicit payment, move users to unsafe external contact, distribute malware or suspicious links, share sexual content, target protected characteristics, encourage self-harm or violence, share illegal content, or try to collect another player's personal data. If you receive unsafe or abusive messages, do not reply with personal information; block or report where available and contact support@zudoku.ai.
ZUDOKU does not promise live human moderation of every message. We may use automated safety checks, keyword/link/spam detection, rate limits, player reports, admin review, and technical logs to help detect abuse. A message may be delivered while also being flagged for review. Flagged messages, snippets, matched risk categories or terms, sender/recipient identifiers, timestamps, room/thread identifiers, device/app metadata, and related support notes may be stored in moderation or support records so we can investigate, protect users, enforce these Terms, comply with law, and improve safety. We may warn, limit, mute, block, remove content, close rooms, reset features, suspend accounts, or report serious threats where legally appropriate.
We may store, process, deliver, filter, block, remove, review, or disclose chat messages and related metadata where reasonably needed to operate chat, deliver notifications, investigate reports, enforce these Terms, prevent abuse, protect players, comply with law, support users, or defend legal claims. Message delivery, deletion, blocking, mute, report, and notification features may not be instant or error-free. Deleting a chat from your device may not immediately delete server backups, moderation records, recipient copies, or legal/safety records.
You can report content or conduct that you believe is illegal or breaches these Terms by using available in-app controls or emailing support@zudoku.ai. We will review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts. Where we take action against your content or account, we will, where required by applicable law including the EU Digital Services Act, provide a statement of reasons and information about how to appeal.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of content you create, such as chat messages and your chosen username/avatar. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, moderate, and process that content as needed to operate, protect, and improve the App. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it.
8. Virtual currency, items, and awards
ZP, ZOKU, awards, badges, seasonal ranks, cosmetics, and other in-app items ("Virtual Items") are part of a limited licence to use features of the App. Virtual Items have no monetary value and are not real currency or property. They are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged, or redeemed for cash except where required by law. They are generally non-refundable and may be adjusted, expired, reset, or revoked for anti-cheat enforcement, account termination, season resets, balancing, or operational reasons. We may change feature mechanics, reward rates, season structures, and rankings over time.
9. ZUDOKU Plus and purchases
ZUDOKU Plus subscriptions and other digital purchases are sold and processed through the app store, such as Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled in your app-store account, and premium access is enabled only after server verification. Pricing, renewal terms, cancellation, and refund flows are presented at the point of sale and managed through the app store.
For EU/UK consumers, digital content and services may carry a 14-day right of withdrawal. By purchasing and requesting immediate access, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you may lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected. Refunds, billing disputes, and cancellation are handled under the app store's rules and applicable consumer law.
10. Local PVP, Bluetooth, and sensitive environments
Local PVP is optional, disabled by default, and uses Bluetooth between nearby devices. It does not use mobile data, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Nearby Connections, or the internet for the local match communication. Enabling it may make your device discoverable to nearby devices and may expose Bluetooth information handled by Android. You connect to another person's device at your own risk, you are responsible for confirming whose device you connect to, and you must not connect to unknown, unexpected, public, unattended, modified, compromised, or untrusted devices.
Bluetooth and electronic-device use is restricted in many environments, including aircraft, hospitals, schools, workplaces, transport systems, and secure facilities. You must obey crew, staff, operator, security, and legal instructions immediately, and must not use Local PVP where it is prohibited or during safety-critical periods, including aircraft safety briefings, takeoff, landing, turbulence, emergencies, or any time you are told to switch off, stow, or stop using electronic devices.
The full safety notice and your confirmations are presented on the in-app Local PVP consent screen before the feature is enabled. That notice forms part of these Terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to Section 15, we are not responsible for consequences arising from your decision to enable or use Local PVP, make your device discoverable, connect to another device, or rely on the behaviour, identity, or security of any peer device or its operator, which are outside our control.
11. Intellectual property
The App and all related content, including software, puzzles, awards/badge artwork, ZUDOKU brand and logos, and story-mode content including The Legend of the First Tile and its characters, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence in Section 4, you receive no rights in any of it.
12. Changes to the App
Features, seasons, leagues, rankings, rewards, and content may change, be added, reset, or removed over time. Disabled or upcoming features may appear as locked teasers until released. We may modify or discontinue parts of the App; where this materially affects paid features, we will act consistently with applicable consumer law.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the App at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud or cheating, risk to others, platform requirements, or as required by law. On termination, your licence ends and access to Virtual Items and unredeemed benefits may be lost; statutory rights and app-store refund rules are unaffected. Where required by law, we will provide reasons and an appeal route.
14. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation and are not responsible for outages, device issues, platform interruptions, or third-party sign-in/payment provider failures beyond our control. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or EUR 50.
These limits do not apply to, and we do not exclude or limit, liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or your mandatory statutory consumer rights.
16. Privacy
Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy at https://zudoku.ai/privacy and the in-app Privacy Policy, which explain what we collect, why, the legal bases, international transfers, and your rights.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are intended to work globally while preserving mandatory consumer protections in your country, state, or region. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you keep the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence and may have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Before filing a formal dispute, contact support@zudoku.ai so we can try to resolve the issue.
18. Copyright complaints
If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright, contact support@zudoku.ai with the information required under applicable law. We may remove allegedly infringing content and act against repeat infringers.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give reasonable notice, for example in-app or by email, before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the App.
20. General
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any feature-specific notices are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, transfer, or sale.
